Frequently Asked Questions for Tours

Are you open every day?

  • We are only open during scheduled tours. Please refer to our tour page HERE for more information.

What are your scheduled tour times?

What type of tours do you offer?

  • We offer an Afternoon or Late Afternoon tour which will last one (1)  hour.  Our Evening tour lasts one and one half (1-1/2) hours. The Evening tour will allow you to see the house and view during some daylight, sunset, and evening.  For information regarding group tours, please refer to our Group Tours page HERE.

Do I need a tour reservation?

  • Yes, a prepaid tour reservation is required for all guests wanting to tour the house. We encourage that you make your reservation six to eight (6-8) weeks in advance.

Is there parking at the Stahl House©?

  • Yes, you will park on the property, either in the carport area or on a specific area of the private street. The docent will be available to guide you.

Can I arrive by Taxi or Uber?

  • Yes, you may arrive by Taxi or Uber. When completing your tour reservation, select “Guest(s) will come by “UBER/TAXI” in the Number of Cars field. Taxi or Uber service must drop you off and leave the street. You can call the service, for a return pickup, towards the end of your tour.

Are children allowed on tours?

  • For the safety and comfort of all guests, children under 10 years of age are not permitted on tours.  This includes infants and toddlers, even if they are in strollers or harnesses.

Is photography permitted?

  • Yes, we do allow photographs to be taken with a cell phone camera only. A required Photography Release form will be provided upon arrival. All photographs taken must be for personal use only and not made available or sold for any third party use.

Is video allowed during tours?

  • Video, of any kind, is not permitted during tours.

What if I am running late for a tour?

  • We encourage everyone to be on time. Please allow plenty of travel time due to Los Angeles traffic. If you are very late, you will need to contact the Stahl House HERE.

Can we bring food or beverages to enjoy during the tour?

  • No food or beverages are permitted on the tours. We do offer bottled water during all tours.

Is a restroom available during tours?

  • Yes, there is a restroom available after the check-in process.

I would like to add an additional guest to my reservation?

  • Please refer to our contact page HERE and complete the Contact Us form. Please provide your name, tour date, tour time, and the full name of the additional guest.  We will check to see if there is availability for your guest.  The additional guest must be part of your reservation and arrive with you in the same vehicle. You will receive an email invoice for payment. Payment must be received upon receipt of the invoice.

Do you offer Group Tours?

Do you offer Private Tours?

  • No, we are currently not offering Private Tours.

Is the Stahl House© wheelchair accessible?

  • Yes, please refer to our Site Challenges page HERE for more details.

Do you offer discounts?

  • Temporarily closed . We offer discounts for Group Tours. Please refer to our Group Tour page HERE for more information.

Can the Stahl House© be rented for private or commercial events?

  • We do not offer event rental at the Stahl House.

Can we come by and look at the outside of the Stahl House©?

  • No, the house is located on a gated private road and you are not able to see the house from the street. No walk up’s are permitted on the private road to respect the privacy of our neighbors.

Is there a waiting list for sold out tours?

  • Yes, we do have a waiting list for tours that are sold out. Please refer to our contact page HERE and complete the Contact Us form.  Please provide the tour date and time that you are interested in attending, how many guests in your party, if you would arrive by car, taxi, or Uber,  and that you wish to be added to the Waiting List.

What if there are weather concerns?

  • All tours proceed as scheduled “Rain or Shine”. If we feel that the weather will cause safety concerns, we will cancel the tour and issue refunds, or if you prefer, move your reservation to a future tour. We will post a tour cancellation notice on the Tour page HERE
